Dear Wise Women,
Since the publication of PETALS and the release of accompanying documentary film Petals: The Journey into Self-Discovery, Nick Karras, his associates and their work have been touching many, many women and men all over the world. Like any significant work, Petals’ work is far from over. Labia-plasti and other forms of genital dysphoria are becoming more and more popular as you read this. With many of your encouragement and help, the PETALS in Color is taking its shape. We are done with the photo part, and now, we ask for your words of wisdom. In Nick Karras’ words, “This project was always about women, for women. I am just one man who simply is in awe of feminine power, the beauty of variety of vulvas, their essence, and their profound mysticism and power. I want women to create this book, collaboratively with drops of each individual wisdom. I am not quite sure of the end piece, but I trust that it will come together beyond what I can imagine.”
With his intentions in mind, what we ask for is your feminine wisdom. It can be a poem, one word, a quote, or a few sentences. Please let us know if you would like your name quoted, and if you are sending us a quote, please indicate the author (speaker). It can be your relationship with your genitals, what your lover said about you or your genitals, your experience of the Petals shoot (if applicable) or about your healing experience. It can be spiritual, erotic, personal, general, profound, silly, or anything in between. We just ask you to come from that deep feminine love and appreciation, instead of anger or sadness. We want this book to uplift and empower women.
What we are looking for mostly are short quotes of 1-3 sentences. But, if you are a writer and want to write an essay, please feel free to do so. Often the best quote or phrase come from an essay, when the author is not self-editing too much :)
